‘To Live For’ is honored to welcome Fia Forsstrom, who is a musician and song writer from Sweden. Fia recently wrote a song in support of the Sioux Tribe at Standing Rock. The song “Standing Rock” went viral, and it is what inspired us to reach out to Fia. For this interview, Fia took time out to meet with us via Skype while she was in Thailand.
Fia’s recently released album, “Made of Stars,” contains more songs like “Standing Rock,” ones that are full of inspiration, wisdom, vulnerabilities, challenges, and love. As a friend of Fia’s recently posted on her Facebook page, Fia’s messages are authentic and healing.
“Made of Stars” emerged during a time of Fia’s life when she was forced to look at her self after the breakup of a relationship. The power of books, being still, yoga, stretching, and breathing is what opened the doors to the ‘download’ of songs that are on the album. As Fia put it, healing and mending her heart through her music were a way to move forward.
