INSPIRED: An Evening of Music & Story Telling

To Live For, with the generous support of the Injured Workers’ Legal Center (Fort Andross, #301, Brunsiwck, Maine) and Hugh & Surrey Hardcastle,  hosted our first live show, “INSPIRED,”  at The Frontier Cafe theater in Brunswick, Maine, on Thursday, March 2, 2017. Our 4 story tellers and two local musicians absolutely inspired the SOLD OUT audience with their truths, vulnerabilities, fears, joy, lessons, inspiration, and love. Thank you to all who attended, to our sponsors, and to our performers.

Below you will find links to the various stories that were shared and to the songs that were performed. Performer information is further down the page.

Leslie Bartlett and her husband, Steven Klockow, specialize in helping couples create deep, enduring, intimate connections in their practice, Healing Relationships, right here in Brunswick, Maine.  She believes, heal the parents and the child will heal. She is on a mission to heal the planet, one couple at a time and is passionate about her work. FMI: healingingrelationships.org. The story she will tell informs us of a piece of her own personal journey into the deep value of connecting with one’s own inner truth.  That journey informs her work with couples, for secrets set free with love and support become a source for our own personal power.

Jackie Ellsworth is an 8th grader at North Yarmouth Academy.  She has been singing and doing theatre since she was five years old. She has performed at Maine State Music theatre and in many school and community productions. She was the Youth Vocal Winner for two years in a row at Midcoast Maine’s Got Talent.  She also loves dancing and is an avid soccer player.

Jim Peacock is the Principal of Peak-Careers Consulting offering online seminars for career professionals, face-to-face workshops / trainings, and individual career coaching. He is an avid outdoorsman who loves anything outdoors, including backpacking (completed 1600+ of the Pacific Crest Trail), kayaking, fishing, and camping. Jim is married and will be celebrating 30 years with Deborah. They have 3 grown boys…I mean men.

Horseman, author and Maine native Chris Lombard works with people and horses to help them better connect with one another. He focuses on how a connection with a horse can be the inspiration for so much positive change in a person’s life. His one-on-one work, group work and speaking engagements have taken him all over the United States. He now lives in Durham with his horse, Rocky, and his dog, Matea.

Maine musician Chris Kemp White has been making music in and around Portland for more than twenty years. After performing almost exclusively with bands, Chris is writing, arranging and recording solo material. Chris’s songs explore both spiritual and everyday themes of love, loss and longing. Chris released a four-song E.P., his first solo endeavor, in June 2016. In October 2016, he partnered with niche record label Leesta Vall Records out of Brooklyn, New York to release a two-song single featuring “It’s Never the Right Time” and companion B-side “You’re Coming Home,” only available on 7” vinyl. A social studies teacher with Maine Connections Academy in South Portland, he enjoys sharing his favorite music with his students, and they keep him abreast of new artists and trends. Chris cherishes time with his wife, two children and their dog, Ida.

Elisa Boxer is an Emmy Award-winning journalist; a New York Times published essayist; a meditation instructor and a nationally-recognized health advocate.
