A Little About LT Smooth
We listened to LT Smooth perform at Huggo’s on the Beach in Kona, HI, and then we had the pleasure to meet with LT for a few hours after his performance. LT’s story is powerful. His music is uplifting. Hi vibe is one of healing, hope, and love.
Briefly, LT overcame youthful tragedy and incredible odds to become the musician, story teller, husband, father, community leader, and inspirational leader who he is today. He has released numerous albums as well as played alongside some of our worlds leading musicians on the big stage and even in front of many world leaders. Despite his success, LT has never forgotten where he came from and how music was a major factor in still being alive today. He spends significant time each year visiting prisons and schools to bring hope and inspiration to youth around the globe.
In honor and gratitude for what music has meant to LT, he is now building the Heart of Music Academy, which will be a place of free music for children from around the world who may be struggling or seeking a way to connect with their own heart and with a renewed hope.
We are equally honored to bring back to the INSPIRED stage, two local musicians, Jackie Ellsworth and Chris Kemp White for our September 7th show. Our first INSPIRED show was such a positive event thanks to Jackie and Chris, we felt called to connect the vibe of our original April show with this second show on September 7th.
Jackie Ellsworth is an 8th grader at North Yarmouth Academy. She has been singing and doing theater since she was five years old. She has performed at Maine State Music theater and in many school and community productions. She was the Youth Vocal Winner for two years in a row at Midcoast Maine’s Got Talent. She also loves dancing and is an avid soccer player.
Maine musician Chris Kemp White has been making music in and around Portland for more than twenty years. After performing almost exclusively with bands, Chris is writing, arranging and recording solo material. Chris’s songs explore both spiritual and everyday themes of love, loss and longing. Chris released a four-song E.P., his first solo endeavor, in June 2016. In October 2016, he partnered with niche record label Leesta Vall Records out of Brooklyn, New York to release a two-song single featuring “It’s Never the Right Time” and companion B-side “You’re Coming Home,” only available on 7” vinyl. A social studies teacher with Maine Connections Academy in South Portland, he enjoys sharing his favorite music with his students, and they keep him abreast of new artists and trends. Chris cherishes time with his wife, two children and their dog, Ida.
The Frontier shares a similar vision as To Live For, and that is connecting people and their talents across the globe. We are delighted to be hosting INSPIRED at The Frontier again! You may know that The Frontier theater has a limited number of seats, so we highly encourage you to purchase tickets ahead of time for our September 7th show.
Proceeds from all of our events and fundraising will go directly to the Heart of Music Academy so attending this show will make a difference around the globe. That is what To Live For and LT are all about. Please join us!
Thank you to our generous sponsors for helping us to help LT Smooth to build his Heart of Music Academy!
